Plan B by Pete Wilson

This is the 2nd book that I received free from Tommy Nelson Publishing (http://www.booksneeze.com/) in exchange for blogging about books and posting my honest opinion.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!! I love everything about it - the book title, the chapter titles, the stories of both today and in Biblical times and the connection between the two. If you are dealing with or have ever dealt with a situation that you were not planning on (referred to as plan B) you NEED to read this book! Pete is able to keep my interest and make me eager to begin the next chapter. I can see how he is a good pastor (or so my brother tells me). This book could not have come at a better time in my life. I am already encouraging others to read this book when it comes out. My favorite parts (if I have to choose) are chapter 9 and 10 - letting others know what is going on in your life so they can help you and eventually you can help others in the same circumstances and how the cross is the ANCHOR! The cross should not be the starting line but the centerpiece! Although I have not finished reading this book, I will by the end of the week and will encourage my husband to read it. I encourage everyone to read this and do the study guide at the back of the book. This book would also be excellent Bible study material.

The Flowering Cross by Beth Ryan Illustrated by Renee Graef

I have joined http://www.booksneeze.com/ (Thomas Nelson Publishing) which provides free books to read in exchange for posting a review (positive or negative) about the book. This is being posted in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.

The first book that I chose was The Flowering Cross by Beth Ryan, Illustrated by Renee Graef.
I chose a Children's book with craft instructions in it. I read this book to my 8 year-old daughter, Tyra. (I believe this book would be appropriate for any child between 6 and 10.) The story is about a little girl and her family who try really hard to be friends with the grouchy older neighbor next door and how they win him over and bring God into his life.
What I enjoyed most about this book is how the little girl never gave up inviting Papa Jack to church - and eventually she won him over. The verses and thoughts at the bottom of the pages helped my daughter and I discuss the book and how we would try to bring people to Jesus. I believe any child would get the message that the author was trying to get across.
The pictures in the book were very detail oriented. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to teach their child/grandchild the importance of perseverance for God.

(While at my dad's house for Easter, my daughter and my dad made this cross and Tyra put flowers in it for the centerpiece for the table.)

I had the basement all to myself today at work, got ALOT done. As much as I like to have people around to talk to, I so need my quiet and alone time to get things done. I am going to try to write at least once a week. We will see!

New Things

Well... I have decided to try some new things this year - blogging being one of them. I am trying to find a job that will allow me to work from home. I need to read more and to stay up on pictures.

Tried to get Amariah to try cereal - it mainly stayed on the tongue,, her fingers, or face! And so begins the wonderful firsts!
